Peter Horn

Peter Horn was elected to Member Council in 2021. He currently serves as co-chair of the Education Committee and co-coordinator of the Stage Directions Action Team (SDAT). He values ARTA as an organization that draws on local expertise and committed volunteers to improve theatre for everyone in Western New York.

By day, Peter is an education consultant and researcher who specializes in student voice, civil discourse, and team learning. A high school English teacher and school leader for nearly 20 years, he hosts an education podcast for a general audience called Point of Learning with Peter Horn, which features theatre artists in several episodes, including Oskar Eustis, Ellen McLaughlin, Rinde Eckert, Melissa Friedman, and Buffalo legend Saul Elkin on the creation of Shakespeare in Delaware Park in 1976. As a performer, Pete is as likely to hold a violin as a script, playing early music with the Royall Consort or tracking fiddle for pop noir singer-songwriter Shayfer James.

Peter has performed in productions at several Western New York theaters, including Alleyway, Desiderio’s, Kavinoky, Lancaster Opera House, MusicalFare, Road Less Traveled, and Shakespeare in Delaware Park. He loves sharing his life with the phenomenal singer, actor, director, and theatre professor Robyn Lee Horn.
