Committees

The real powerhouses of ARTA, committees bring every event, workshop, and initiative into being. Anyone helping to make theatre in WNY is welcome to visit a committee meeting and see if they’d like to join!

EDIAA Committee

Co-Chairs Robin Barker, Dee Dee Tolbert and Josh Wilde

The Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Accessibility & Accountability (EDIAA) Committee plans trainings and ongoing education related to DEI work. It advocates for ARTA’s members and collaborates with local theatres to promote equitable, safe and inclusive practices in the theaters throughout Western New York.

Education Committee

Co-Chairs Peter Horn and Kristen Tripp Kelley

Providing learning opportunities for our members was one of the original reasons for forming ARTA, and education remains essential to our mission. The Education Committee plans discussions, workshops, and other programs so members can learn more about their craft, explore new and classic plays, and understand different dimensions of theatre in our region and beyond.

Events Committee

Co-Chairs Alexandra Montesano and Amelia Scinta

Are you a social butterfly?  Do you love getting people together?  We are looking for more local theatre folks to parties, designer showcases, pre-Arties style swaps and more!

Membership Committee

Co-Chairs Dave Marciniak and Amelia Scinta

Are you interested in what services we can provide to our members as a 501(c)(6) guild?  Do you have connections within our community that can broaden our reach?  The Membership Committee is redoubling its efforts to ensure that we maintain active connections to theatre makers throughout Western New York.

Stage Directions Action Team

Co-Coordinators Peter Horn and Matt Refermat

The Stage Directions Action Team (SDAT) is different from ARTA’s standing committees in that its scope is very limited. Our goal is that the Stage Directions document developed in collaboration with dozens of local theatre practitioners and producers stays part of the local theatre conversation about best practices for performers, designers, and producers.
