A native of Buffalo's East Side, Matt Refermat has worked as a director, actor, stage manager, dramaturge, and/or teaching artist in over 100 career productions! Locally, Refermat's work has been featured onstage or off at ICTC, MusicalFare Theatre, Second Generation Theatre, BUA, LOH, Shea's 710, and the Paul Robeson Theatre in credits including: A Little Night Music, Alley of the Dolls, Fiddler on the Roof, Great Expectations, Little Women: The Musical, Oklahoma!, Our Town, and Parade. In 2024, Refermat received the inaugural Michael Shea Award for Theatre Educator of the Year from Shea's Performing Arts Center, in recognition of his work as Producer and Director of the annual Spring Musical at Cheektowaga-Sloan's John F.
