Dee Dee Tolbert

Davida Evette Tolbert—a.k.a. Dee Dee—is a proud Buffalonian. Believe it or not, she was once going to forget about theater altogether. Somehow, Dee managed to listen to sound advice and pursue what she knew she was supposed to be doing. Dee grew up to find the one emotion she needed to feel to be whole: happiness. The stage is where hers shines. Dee’s performance experience lies within her roots at the Ujima Theater under the direction of the late, legendary, and incomparable Lorna C. Hill. As time progressed, so did her opportunities. She has also worked with Torn Space Theater, Alemaedae Theater, the Brazen Faced Varlets, Irish Classical Theater Company, Road Less Traveled Productions, First Look Buffalo Theater Company, and MusicalFare Theatre. As of this year, she has also assumed the position of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Outreach Coordinator for MusicalFare Theatre, and ARTA Co-President. Dee is a local praise dancer and instructor, acting consultant, and advocate for change. All she really wants is for the world to experience life through the performance arts perspective.
